We began the strategic planning sessions with the goal of aligning our past and present work with the vision for the future.

This took our team on a journey of hosting community spaces and inviting former volunteers and community members to help us identify where we should go over the next five years. We held spaces in two public libraries and gathered feedback that informed what is now our strategic plan.

In those spaces, folks identified long-term goals for our various committees and the organization to ensure long-term impact in Santa Clara County.

Goals for the committees include;

Organizing Committee: Through tenant and community engagement, guarantee SBCLT's community presence and leadership.

• Recruit, develop, and train a corps of tenant and community volunteers.

• Participate in housing, tenant, and anti-displacement movements as they happen.

• Train 75-100 CLT residents in management and the path to ownership.

• Recruit community volunteers to assist in property management.

• Identify a unique transition strategy toward tenant ownership appropriate for each
  property.

Communications Committee:

• Direct, produce, and disseminate SBCLT messaging, materials, and social media, including
  on the SBCLT website. Establish a social media rhythm.

Fundraising (People’s Preservation Fund) Committee:

• Oversee the continuing development and growth of the People’s
  Preservation Fund (PPF) with a goal of being able to raise $2 million a year
  by 2030. Activate and maintain a fundraising support network.

South Bay CLT Long-Term Goals

• Complete acquisition and preservation of
  80-100 units.

• Use SBCLT development experience to
  build internal capacity and expertise.

Since those sessions, the team has grown in many ways and continues to follow the path set in 2024.
